Jeep JK Wrangler owners who take their vehicles on extreme trails know how important it is to have body protection for their vehicles. Bumpers and rock sliders are a must, but occasionally the Jeep’s rear quarter panels can come in contact with the rock. The result will be dents or severe scratches that open the door to rust and, later, expensive replacement.

The all-new OR-FAB Rear Quarter Panel Armor helps prevent damage to Jeep Wranglers, while improving the appearance of the vehicle. Manufactured from laser-cut, 10-gauge steel, the rear quarter body armor fits 2007 to 2012 Jeep JK Wranglers.

Easy installation

The quarter armor is also easy to install and is done by using the armor itself as a template to mark and drill the bolt holes on the vehicle. OR-FAB also suggests using its synthetic liner (an added option), between the armor and the Jeep’s body. This further protects the area from small particles of dirt and moisture. OR-FAB provides nutserts in the kit to secure the bolts to the Jeep’s sheet metal. You’ll also get a nutsert tool that properly crimps the nutserts to secure them into position.

The liner and body armor are then placed into position and the provided stainless steel bolts are inserted. The LED taillights tie into the factory wiring harness using crimp wire connectors and a resistor that allows the LED lights to flash correctly with the vehicle’s turn signal indicator.

The OR-FAB rear quarter armor comes in a complete kit that includes LED taillights, stainless steel button-head bolts, and a rivet-nut tool. Jeep owners who want the most protection can use the OR-FAB rear quarter body armor that is equipped with a 1.5”-diameter, .120 wall steel rock-slider tube. The armor is also available without the rock slider and in a raw steel version that allows owners to install their own LED taillights.

OR-FAB armor also fits on Jeeps with aftermarket fenders or OR-FAB’s spare tire carrier systems. For more information, contact OR-FAB, P.O. Box 3450 Chino Valley, Arizona, 86323, call 928-636-7080 or visit www.orfab.com.

Installation Procedure Overview

OR-FAB quarter armor kit comes with everything needed for installation. It can be ordered with or without the rock slider bar and without the taillight cut-outs.

Remove the taillights, gas filler cap molding, and the fenders.

Use the quarter armor as a template to mark and drill the holes. Use tape to position the armor properly while marking the holes onto the sheetmetal.

OR-FAB supplies a nutsert tool that makes it easy to install the nutserts into the sheetmetal.

The tool easily crimps the nutsert to secure it to the factory sheetmetal.

Bolt the LED taillights onto the quarter armor before installing it.

The directions indicate which wires connect with the LED light pigtails. This must be done prior to installing the armor over the Jeep.

Install the OR-FAB quarter armor liner (sold separately) and the armor. Stainless steel button head bolts are included to secure the armor to the Jeep.

With the fenders and gas filler cap molding on, the Jeep looks great and is protected against trail damage.
