Compton, California (September 1, 2017) – Greg Adler and Team 4 Wheel Parts scaled the heights of Wild West Motorsports Park this past weekend as the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series brought the unpredictable chaos of short course off road racing to Reno, Nevada. While the expectations set by Adler and his team for Rounds 9&10 of series competition didn’t come to fruition, the effort and determination they displayed throughout the weekend was indicative of the team’s commitment to the continued pursuit of success.

After a cooling issue during Saturday morning’s qualifying session sidelined the #10, the team made the necessary repairs while facing a narrow timeline to prepare Adler’s Pro4 for the afternoon’s main event. While he was able to take the green flag and launch his 900-HP machine into the fray, he was forced to retire from the race midway through the event as engine cooling issues continued to be problematic.

“It’s always tough to have to make the decision between continuing in the race and risk destroying a motor or pulling off and letting the team get to work for the next round,” said Adler. “In this case, staying out would have only done more damage so we opted to pull off the track and prepare to fight another day.”

Undaunted, Crew Chief, Mike Seat, Car Chief, Dylan Cochran and the team burned the midnight oil performing a complete engine replacement, and by the morning’s early hours, Adler was once again equipped to take the fight to the elite field. With a few precious tenth round qualifying laps under his belt, Adler was eager to put himself into contention for the afternoon’s finale to the weekend doubleheader. Taking the start, he immediately completed a pass and started his pursuit of the field. Unfortunately, just two laps into the race, he was inadvertently contacted by another competitor causing catastrophic damage to his truck forcing an abrupt end to his weekend.

“It’s disappointing. We’re here to represent 4 Wheel Parts and put on a great show for the fans and today just wasn’t our day on the track. The guys busted their tails all night and their hard work earned us an opportunity to be out there on the grid today. Everyone’s racing hard and there’s a battle for every position. We’re all competitive but the biggest disappointment is to be sitting on the sidelines watching when we know we should be out there battling. Now, we’re going to regroup and come home to put up a fight at Glen Helen in a couple of weeks.”

The team now prepares for Rounds 11&12 as the Series comes home to Southern California’s, Glen Helen Raceway before returning to Chandler, Arizona for the season finale and the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup.

Throughout the season, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series can be viewed on CBS, CBS Sports Network, MavTV.and LucasOilRacing.TV.
