Easter Jeep Safari 2011
The Vendor Show Opens
Thursday was the first day of the vendor show at the Easter Jeep Safari, and there were quite a few companies displaying new products. All of our favorite suspension companies were there, like Superlift, Pro Comp, and Rancho, plus the 4 Wheel Parts semi trailer that was equipped not just to display products, but to do sales right at the show. This is like a 4 Wheel Parts store on wheels! And, they even had some great specials too.
Warn seemed to be everywhere we looked in Moab this year, with former Xtreme 4×4 host Jessi Combs in the booth, a sponsored trail ride earlier in the week, and numerous new products. One Warn development is its extreme-duty hub for Dana 60s. This improves upon Warn’s traditional Premium Hub with stronger materials, a slimmer profile, more positive locking engagement, and updated looks. Warn is also introducing a new winch line called the VR line. VR line winches are offered at similar prices to overseas winches, but still provide the same quality and customer service that Warn is famous for.
JKS was another manufacturer that had new products on display, and the company has turned its attention to the JK Wrangler and ways to improve it. The latest offering by JKS is a heavy-duty track bar bracket that also supports the sector shaft in the steering box. Why didn’t I think of that?!
We also stopped by Mopar’s display in town, and even saw 4 Wheel Parts President Greg Adler there in his awesome, Hemi-powered JK Unlimited. You never know who you are going to run into at the Easter Jeep Safari! Greg was checking out the “Pork Chop,” a concept vehicle from Jeep that shaves 800 lb. off a normal JK Wrangler for improved power-to-weight ratio.
Our next stop is Arches National Park to celebrate National Park Week. We might even find some 4WD roads to explore in the park while we are there!
