Sean Lockwood
How is everyone doing? My name is Sean Lockwood and I have been with 4 Wheel Parts for 11 years now. I started at the Westminster store in Colorado. I came into the company as an experienced sales person on the retail counter and after about 6 months I became the assistant store manager. I was the assistant in that store until November of 2005 and that is when I went to the wholesale department for the Rocky Mountain region as a salesperson in that department.
Then I took some time off, eventually coming back to the Denver 4 Wheel Parts Store as a salesperson. I have been at this store as a member of the sales team ever since. When you place an order on one of our websites and choose to buy online and pick up in store, I am the person that contacts you and gets your order set up for you. Also, because of my experience with the company I am considered a go-to person in the store and in the region.
I have been an off road enthusiast from a young age, since the early 80s when I used to go to the stadiums for the Mickey Thompson truck races and monster truck monster jams. I also grew up camping and shooting guns with my family in the Colorado Mountains, so you could say I was born to have a career in this industry.
My first car was a 1967 Ford Mustang and I was the type of person that thought this car would go anywhere. That poor car – if I could only go back and see what it is worth now. I soon figured out that I needed a more off road worthy vehicle, but the truck I purchased was far from it. I got myself a 1991 Chevy truck that was 2wd and slammed to the ground. I had that truck for many years and gave it many facelifts, from lowering kits to air bags to one of the first Fabtech 7" long travel kits. That truck saw its final day when I rolled it behind the Westminster store on the little test track we built back there. That’s when I finally got myself a 1999 Jeep Wrangler sport. The day I purchased it, I took it to the shop and installed an Explorer Pro Comp 4” lift kit. That was my first real off road worthy vehicle. I have also had a few Jeep Cherokees and Grand Cherokees, and now I am working on a 1988 Toyota 4 Runner.
The 1988 Toyota 4 Runner came after getting the right dollar for my Wrangler. I have decided to build this rig and do it all myself: building my own triangulated 4 link system, putting on a built Dana 44 axle, and adding a GM 14 bolt in the rear. I currently have a set of Pro Comp 40-inch Xterrain tires mounted on a set of American Racing ATX 181 artillery wheels. It's currently ready for me to paint; I have started on the hood and I've decided what I am going to do as far as the paint scheme. Look for this in my up-and-coming how-to post and keep an eye out for the upgrades I make.
