Mustard Dog

Mustard Dog

My name is Eric "Mustard Dog" Anderson and I've loved everything about the outdoors since I was a kid, especially that outdoor activities are so family-centered. Growing up in Southern California, there were boundless opportunities to go camping in the desert. I grabbed every opportunity I could get and it's made me into a lifelong outdoors enthusiast.

During my early off road explorations, I longed to really hit the tougher terrains, so in 1997 I finally bought an old, full body Toyota Land Cruiser with 36" tires that I started to build out. The first thing I did was cut off the back half so I could lengthen the truck. Then I upgraded to 38" tires and started using propane fuel. This became my main wheeling vehicle until I graduated to my 2 Buggy.

In late 2004, I got my 2 Buggy, which has the following parts installed:

  • Hendrix Motorsports X-Chassis
  • 39" BFG Krawler tires
  • Bilstein coilover shocks
  • 6 liter engine from an older Cadillac Escalade
  • Toyota base axle
  • Atlas transfer case
  • ARB air lockers
  • I've been racing for quite some time now and I've picked up wins in the 2007 Formula Toyota Class and 2007 Ultra 4 Racing National Championship. I also spotted John James in the 2008/09 ProRock and WeRock Championships. I did my first King of the Hammers race in 2008, which was when I was introduced to 4 Wheel Parts, and it's been an amazing partnership ever since.

These days, you can find me with my off road clubs out in Johnson Valley and on the Hammer trails.

The Beginning of a New Build

The last time I started a build thread was in 2004 during the month of November. It all started when I went up to Hendrix Motorsports and got X-Chassis 12 and 13 and began to put together the last ‘wheeling rig I had told my wife we would ever need. It was actually a very nice ride, and then KOH happened and messed up everything.
