Eric Heiden is a valued employee of Transamerican Auto Parts, LLC (TAP), as well as a veteran of off-road racing. Heiden began his tenure with TAP at 4 Wheel Parts and now works with G2 Axle & Gear. G2 manufactures durable drivetrain components that are engineered to withstand the abuses of off-road driving.
In 1991, Heiden and Gadzooks created Don-A-Vee Motorsports. Over the next few years, Team Don-A-Vee earned two class championships, plus a win in the Baja 1000.
In the mid-1990s, Heiden broke away from Don-A-Vee Motorsports to establish the Los Amigos race team. Under the Los Amigos flag, Heiden raced a vintage Ford F-150 in La Rana Desert Racing, Best in the Desert (BITD), and Mojave Desert Racing (MDR). Team accomplishments included an overall series points title in MDR, and second place in series points with both La Rana and BITD.
Heiden currently competes in Class 1700 of the Jeepspeed Race Series. His vehicle is a 1993 Jeep Cherokee, equipped with a Rubicon Express short arm lift kit, Bilstein 9100 Series shocks, and Goodyear MTR tires. As of July, 2011, he’s holding the sixth position in series points.

The Silver State 300 is an unusual race. It’s referred to as a “loop” because it consists of one 300-mile lap. In reality, it’s a “chase” race. The start line is located about 100 miles outside of Las Vegas, near the small town of Alamo, Nev. The finish line is located 20 miles away.

The Team 4 Wheel Parts Jeepspeed raced into Parker, Ariz., this month to kick off the 2012 Best in the Desert race season. The Parker 425 is rich in history and known as one of the toughest courses in the six-race circuit. The Jeepspeed class consists of relatively stock Jeep Xjs and Tjs competing to win the coveted Jeepspeed Challenge Cup.
