Pete Griffith
Hi! I’m Pete Griffith, and I’m an Inventory Analyst for Pro Comp USA, a division of Transamerican Auto Parts, the parent company for 4 Wheel Parts. I have been into Jeeping and off-roading for 12 years, and an employee of TAP for nearly 3 years.
I wheel a heavily modified 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ Sport, which I have owned since it was brand new with only 0.3 miles on the clock. When we picked up the Jeep, we drove it straight from the dealership to the Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari; My Jeep’s very first miles were a wheeling trip! Before I got my TJ, I had an ’86 CJ7, and before that, an ’82 Wagoneer. Those older Jeeps are long gone, but the TJ lives on! As with most dedicated trail rigs, my Jeep is an assortment of parts acquired from many places, including 4WP.
I have been very active in the local wheeling community for many years, and am active on several off-roading websites, including www.jeepaholics.com, www.pirate4x4.com, and www.fullsizebronco.com. Every year in November I host a run in the desert for all my 4 Wheeling friends. This year will mark the 10th Anniversary of my informal run, and I’m always amazed that people keep coming out year after year.
I love wheeling in the California desert, and can often be found in Johnson Valley (home of the world-famous Hammers trails) and Truckhaven (home to the TDS Desert Safari). Watch here for wheeling adventures as I take my Jeep out and try to not break (sometimes with limited success). If you know the Hammers and have heard of Spooners Canyon….well…I’m one of the original Spooners. That’s a whole other story…
Look for stories of how I built my Jeep in my next posts!
