Dave Ruiz

My name is David Ruiz, I live in San Gabriel, CA, and I'm a Product Search Specialist at 4 Wheel Parts. I first discovered off roading about 5 years ago and now I can't get enough of it. I'm still wheeling in my first off road vehicle – an '88 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L I6 – although now it's been enhanced with many aftermarket upgrades.

I've had the opportunity to take some great off roading trips in recent years. If you're taking a day trip in Southern California, you can't beat the Big Bear area. My favorite overnight trips have been in Death Valley and the High Sierras.

I've done most of my upgrades with the help of the Azusa, CA 4 Wheel Parts performance center. I'd like to give special thanks to Bryan Wendt and Herb Hopkins for all the help they've provided. My Jeep's gotten a whole bunch of upgrades, including:

The trip began by navigating up and over the infamous Mengel Pass. From there, the group set up camp at Stella’s cabin and spent the next few days checking out the local sites.

I added some Bushwacker Flat Fenders! These flat fenders gave the Cherokee a whole new look — it was the finishing touch it needed. I have 35×13.50s and wanted something that would help cover the tire, and these did the trick. I previously cut my fenders before this product was available; after welding on a few tabs/brackets, they fit fine. Take your time, follow the directions, and you will too be satisfied with your purchase. Great look and great design! Check it out:
