Dave Doetsch
Hi, my name is Dave Doetsch and while I’m not an employee of 4 Wheel Parts, I am one of their dedicated customer fanatics. In fact, my passion has driven me to become an ambassador for Team 4 Wheel Parts so that I can share my real-world experiences about the products they sell.
Since as early as I can remember, I have loved anything associated with the off-road lifestyle, especially anything that involves Jeeps. As a child, seeing a lifted truck or 4x4 reminded me of old school monster trucks smashing cars at the local state fair. During high school in the mid-90s I learned how to drive my first vehicle, which was a 1979 CJ5 mildly lifted on 33” tires. It took support from my parents and many long nights working after school to afford this newfound Jeep habit. But I stuck with it and soon found myself owning not one, two, or three Jeeps - but rather seven! They ranged from CJ5s to Wranglers and all helped me earn my shade-tree mechanic skills.
By college, I began pursuing my degree in mechanical engineering just so I could be closer to anything automotive. Thanks to ongoing support from my family, I even opened my own automotive accessories shop in the early 2000s. While the shop didn’t last too long, my passion for off-roading never ended.
Living in Arizona provides a natural backdrop to be able to enjoy the outdoors, especially rock crawling, almost year round. My modified 2009 Wrangler Rubicon provides the perfect outlet to unleash the stress from the daily 9-5 and there are plenty of trails all around Arizona, so the enthusiasm never ends.
Now that I have a family of my own, there is nothing more that I want than to have my twin sons foster the same passion for off-roading that I grew up with. Besides the strong social bonds that are created amongst wheelers who share the same trails, off-roading builds character and a chance to enjoy a slice of life along the hardest path to get to.
